its odd the other day both my turnsignals and the hvac fan stoped working. i still have hazard lights but nothing when i use my turn signals.

i checked all the fused and they were all fine . in the owners manual non of the fuses seem to control either the turn signals or the hvac . they appear to be controled by relays.

please help. i have not fan blower or turn signals . what could cause this ?

how can i figure out whats worng . will a dealer be able to check the cars ecu and find out ?

thanks.

Not sure about the 2000. I guess your Owners' Manual will say which fuses/relays it should be. For the 1996, check Fuse 37 and Relay 14 (for the heater blower) located in the Passenger compartment fuse box. Left and under the steering column next to your left knee. Push/pull knob/lever for the fuse panel to drop down.

In addition, check Relay 23 (in the steering column). I think this is also called the Flasher. Need to remove the turn signal Multi Function Switch to access it.

Here is a thread on the MFS.

From Ford CD
1. Disconnect battery ground cable
2. Remove two screws and upper steering column shroud
3. Depress the multi-function switch locking tab.
4. Slide multi-function switch up and off of steering column.
5. Depress locking tabs on multi-function switch electrical connectors and remove from the multi-function switch.

Autozone has some schematics.

Congrats on digging this up.

I don't have a 2K EVTM so this is from the 99 CD, but for the late 99 (May - on) production, F23 is a 15A fuse. It supplies both the blower fan relay and the turn signal relay.

I'd swap it even if it "looks" okay. Sometimes, fuses fail and don't look bad in a visual inspection.
