Just picked up a new hood but wondering if I can get it to fit in the trunk with the seats folded of course? Has anybody attempted this and was succesful?

Never tried it but I don't think it would. Too wide.
I know the trunk fits perfectly so I'm just using that to judge it.

yes without a problem the hood will fit.

I was able to fit a hood with out folding seats in my old Contour, although the hood stuck out, i was able to drive it 10 miles home

If you fold the seats down, the hood fits in sideways. You'll need to angle it when you're putting it in to pass it around the strut towers, but it'll fit no problem.
