Try a Don Melchor and come back and tell me that! I've had a few young Conchas that were really raw to drink, but for the most part their entire lineup has been good.

Alright, CA does do some pansy-wines, but to paint Atlas, Stag's Leap, Frog's Leap, Cakebread, Chalk Hill and other vaunted cellars with the same brush as some of the cheap Zinfandel makers is nuts!!!
To be honest, wine is about the only thing I'll come running to defend CA on; give them another shot.
