Wines for pussies!

-Andy

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Duckhorn Merlot 2002. Not for value, for quality. I'll hit Costco for a try of the Sebastiani; thanks for the tip.

Be a dear and put the grapes in the glass..........

I promise to get one if SPECS carries it.

We're new to wine so we're still learning and trying to figure out what we like. Sucks because since we're newbies, we spend a lot of money on wines that don't always turn out like we'd like.

Our last bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon was Chateau Ste Michelle.

Well I went out today looking for the Sebastiani but didn't remember what year it was so I didn't pick it up. Hopefully I will get a bottle tomorrow. Picked up a bottle of Montes Alpha (Chile) Syrah, I'll let everyone know how it is, in about an hr or so

I lost my wine notebook... but that Concha y Toro is a favorite of mine in Merlot. Santa Alicia is another favorite in merlot if you can find it.

If you want a cheap wine for bottle attitude rather than wine quality: Royal B****

I've actually been to their main vineyard up North of Redmond, WA; they have a good tour. I'm not particular to their reds, but they do a very good Chardonnay and I'm not a fan of Chards at all.

Outside of German Rieslings and a few Italian Pino Grigios, Chateau Ste Michelle is the only other "white" wine I keep around. Good taste and good price...

I haven't tried their Riesling yet, but do have it in mind. The last Riesling we had (last week) was Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve. My wife likes the Riesling.

We hope to check out some of the Texas vineyards. We visited Spicewood last October and came home with a dozen or so bottles.

Aside from your recommendation, we'll be using the wines from the Chronicle's Livestock Show and Rodeo winners list. That should keep us busy for quite some time. I kept the section.

I suck at wine, but I do know what I like.

I bought a bottle of moscato from a small vineyard in California called Alapay. Awesome desert wine. The friends I was with at the tasting are definite vinophiles and ended up buying a bunch of bottles of various wines and joined their wine club so I can only assume it must have been some good stuff.
