any cops that pull people over for this stuff should be ASE certified and be fully compliant with CARB themselves, now knowing that police vehicles are 'modified' from the factory - each and every police vehicle in their fleet is 'NON-STOCK' and should be impounded at their own cost

with all the sh*t that slips through the SD/TJ border the SDPD should be more concerned with other things they find when they start popping hoods and opening doors. the video does kind of seem like a prank. but who knows.. Matt, the person to contact/[censored] to would be your congressman. if this is even remotely true im sure sema is already on the attack. half of sema's membership is probably made up of rice-manufacturers. with as many customers as there are in CA alone crap like this would realllly hurt sales for many companies.

Aftermarket industry, particularly rice, is a multi-BILLION dollar industry. So I've heard from rice-drivers. That video looked a little stupid. Hoses are a big problem. Remember to use BLACK hoses, not blue. Blue is illegal. Red probably is too.
Is my car for sale? PM me if you're in South FL.

1. Yes, the aftermarket industry is rather large. check www.sema.org for details on just how large.
2. The blue hose is "illegal" for that application, not because it is blue, but because it is silicone and doesn't bear the proper certification from CARB.
The ironic thing is that a vehicle "equipped for racing" can most definately use all CARB EO# parts, and then the cops would be SOL for citing the driver.

Ahh, yes. The state of tolerant, kindly liberalism.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I agree. If "x" decibels is too loud for a Honda exhaust, then it is too loud for a Harley. If "y" levels of crap in your exhaust is OK, then it is OK for everyone.
Cops do have an important and thankless job, so anything that helps keep them and society safe, I'm all for. It seems to me that they should be cruising around at night looking for real street racers not just pulling people over for driving slightly modified cars (if NOS is a slight mod...?)
Just a thought/ question: is there any legitimate reason for an older Honda to be running NOS on the street? I can see if they race that same car on the weekends, but it seems to me they should disconnect the bottle during the week.
But if "z" amount of lowering is illegal, then it's illegal. If blue turn signals or less than 20% tint are illegal they are illegal. You should expect to be pulled over and ticketed for those things. If you don't like it, lobby for the law to be changed. Just MHO.

Maybe the SDPD didn't want all their super-spy secret training methods given away.
