Rekindling an old fire about what we can and can't say on this forum (street racing, general acts of stupid bravado, etc...). I pose this somewhat rhetorical, thought-invoking tidbit of ponderance:

I'm sitting here reading my new issue of CAR & DRIVER (featuring the new 2003 Mustang SVT [300hp, 12s 1/4 mile]) and on page 22 I come across an entire editorial page by John Philips recounting in full his recent case of road rage (and all the stupid things that go along with it.) Now, if this can be published in a magazine with a readership of 4 million (1.25 million paid subscribers), how come we can't openly and freely talk about our own exploits to a usual audience of a couple hundred readers (max.)???

I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby.
There's money to be made in racing. I should know. I put a lot of it there.
You can make a small fortune in racing. Start with a large one.
How fast do you want to go...how much money do you have?
You can fix a lot of things, but you can't fix stupid!

I've usually stayed away from this stuff, but I'll make a short comment.

Your comment about someone else doing it so that makes it OK is about like saying "my friend just jumped out of an airplane without a parachute so I'm going to do it too."

Please warn me before you do so I will know not to stand under your flight path.

What part of the following is too difficult for you to understand:

Because Lance said so.

The editors of C&D can do whatever they please with their magazine. Lance (as the CEG admin and general overlord) can put whatever restrictions he wants on the forums. Why is that so hard for people to handle? If you feel the need to post about street racing, go find a forum that welcomes it and post it there.
