even though i haven't sold my contour yet, i was able to put enough money together to buy a 97 Cobra. This thing hauls ass! When i drive my tour after the cobra it feels like it's not even accelerating!

Nice, now we can prove to CHRISTOPHER (fmr12b) that the 0-60 time of it is 5.5! My friend has a 96 cobra, and yes it hauls ass. Last night we were driving around when it was rainy and he was demonstrating how it fishtails when you shift it even without turning the wheel! At 40 mph!
Remember, do not change lanes while powershifting or you will end up in a viscous fishtail!
How much did it cost you? Do you have a warranty?
Go to www.98cobra.com . There is a group of guys in the bay area that drive em'. Good luck with that oversteer!

Please buy an extended warranty! My friend with a 98 is on his second engine!

Where did you buy it from? That is a very good price.

I wonder why that is maybe a few more ponies huh? If I owned a Viper and a Cobra do you think there would be a noticeable difference?

I'm buying it from a private owner who just moved out here from Iowa. I've noticed that once you get out of CA you find a lot better deals on Cobras and any other car for that matter.

i thought the '96 Cobras were the slowest of the bunch, like barely hittin 14's. once you mod em, i'm sure they're beasts, but stock i dont think they were that great.
i aint sayin i'm gonna take you, cause i'm sure i wont, but the older cobras weren't all that, IIRC

96-98 used the 4.6 liter DOHC V8 rated at 305 hp. I could be one year off. The cobra before this one used the 5.0 liter pushrod and was rated at 260 hp.
