Driving school my nuts. Perhaps its the allseasons, but I've driven plenty of other cars, without snowtires, that were much better than the SVT in the snow. I had two old (circa 1990) Buick Century's that would go anywhere on crappy old tires, and were literally unstopable with snow tires. The GrandAm I had wasn't nearly as good as those two cars, but it was better than the SVT. I'll say this for the GA though, it was tail happy, the SVT is pretty predictible in comparison. I guess I'm thinking more of staight line acceleration and braking capablities. Again, maybe its the tires, maybe its the low gearing. But there is no way its the BEST in the snow.

The contour is great in the snow; its the shoes that are on it...if you have High Performance Summer Tires, no [censored] it sucks in the snow...

Yea, like I said in my orignial post, and my rebuttle, I'm sure different tires would make a big difference.

That's what SZ05, 2 trips to the Ford Natl's in Carlisle, countless trips to Michigan, and screwin around on a sunny Sunday afternoon will do to your mileage. I do love to drive my SVT.

I cant believe you had an opel gt. hat was my first car. i had a 1970 with the original yellow paint on it. it was great!

The tires make a HUGE difference... my SVT hasn't had any all seasons on it since I got it, only Z and 2 sets of W rated summer tires.

The Kumho 712s (Z) and Cooper 2XS (W) SUCK horribly in the snow. I got stuck all over the place in Montana with the Kumhos last winter, then the Coopers at the start of this winter couldn't get me up a packed snow continental divide pass in Wyoming, while my dad's Cadillac didn't even slip a tire.

Now the Dunlop SP9000s (W) on it now, I have yet to get stuck in the blizzard we just had last week (and I tried...).
