...while North Korea is known to have nuclear weapons but nothing really is being done about
Just makes the story a bit less credible in my eyes...
i will explain the dprk issue simply for you. image is very important to some cultures, korean being among them. kim jong (mentally) il wants to be one of the major players on the block. he wants to be able to play a card that will make others fear and respect him, so he has a couple of nukes. now here is the important part. kim jong il does not want to die just to prove he is tough, unlike iran. kim jong il knows full good and well that the united states will personally guarrantee his death should he actually nuke anybody. a consequence he most assuredly does not wish to endure. to further expound upon the image thing i have a reading assignment for you, read "the two koreas."
iran has every intention of building a nuke and actually using it. that guy should be allowed to have a sharp stick much less nuclear capability. and just for those who want to play the hypocrite card on the US, we know from first hand expereince as the only country to have actually nuked another that doing so is most definately not good which is partly why we actively try to prevent countries who want to nuke others from doing so. there are other reasons but i don't feel like getting into it.
on the iraq wmd thing, since every time i have to explain this i feel like i am talking to the french (not a compliment) i will say nothing at all save for this: europe didn't think hitler was a threat either until he invaded poland.
