Hey Folks!

Was wondering if anyone knew if the rear sub-frame and suspension is interchangable between the contour and cougar? I'm pretty sure it is, and couldn't find anything diferent, but wanted to ask before i spend money.

My rear suspensions bushings are shot, and i can get my hands on a complete rear subframe from a low mileage 01 cougar. I'm thinking it'd be easier and cheaper to replace the entire assy from a newer car then replace all the bushings on the contour.

Any thoughts?

John.

The best bet would be to go to Team Ford (Bill Jenkins) look up the rear subframe from both cars and see if the part number is the same. I would also browse here ask some questions as well. I know that later models of the cougar had different top rear strut mounts or something along those line.

I am almost positive that the whole rear assembly is directly swappable.

[at least I hope so becaue most of my parts are from a tour]

yes... I am a cougar owner trolling on your board.
