Also, that just looks like the regular spiderman costume in b&w. The black costume didn't have the webbing and such...

my comment wasnt about the pic itself but about what ive heard about he movie and my umm, extropolation from the comics.
synopsis
The "venom" symbiote is brought back to earth by the space shuttle Mary Janes fiance pilots and than merges with Eddie Brock. he becomes a vigilante and than somehow the carnage symbiote grows of of venom, but i dont think hes in the film

Looks like recycled footage re-edited to mimic the Venom suit as it is designed and made.
I'm excited about Venom being the villain. He was my favorite villain, as a kid. As for Topher Grace being Venom, I imagine they're going to make Brock's character a fellow student on campus who's an ignorant jock, or something. Topher looks about the same age and as Spidey.
I can't see the guy being as buff as Arnold though for principal shooting (how Brock was depicted in the comics). Maybe once the symbiont gets him, CG can handle the rest :shrugs:

Top Cow? You mean the company that has 20 versions of the same character, apparently all drawn by the same guy? Image was where it was at.
That IS a black costume. The Spidey symbiote outfit didn't have webbing and all, but they prolly dressed it up for the big screen, like they did the red outfit. Topher Grace is Venom, who is in this one, as well as Sandman (Marvel's, not Neil Gaiman's) played by Thomas Hayden Church (could be cool). Also, expect to see Franco become Green Goblin II or Hobgoblin, depending on which name they use.

it would be hobgoblin, green goblin is the original. Im surprised they went with Topher, as those guys are almosrt the same kind of guy. Im not too familiar with Marvels sandman, seems like spideys villians are kinda lame! Though Haden-Church should be able to play a better villian than the dude that played doc oc. I wish theyd rather go with Shocker or Mysterio, hell even rhino dude guy.
on another note, i think xmen 3 should be killer!
i also hope they make more batman movies like batman begins.

I have never followed comic book superheros (even with the Superman and Batman movies of the past) .. but the recent Marvel comics productions have been spectacular and I can't wait for more.

Hobgoblin was a different man altogether. Osborne's son was Green Goblin II. You watched the cartoon show, didn't you?  I'm with you on using Mysterio or Shocker though.... so long as Vulture stays far away..... Spidey really did have the worst villains. Now, if they could get a Spawn cameo.....
Spidey's Sandman does (suprisingly!) stuff with sand. If the visual effects are well-done, it could be cool. And seeing Venom on the big screen? Oh... my... God.....
I was SO stoked for X3, and then they dropped the Brent Ratner bomb. Now, I'm just cautiously optimisitic.

has no one heard of IMDB.COM? Spiderman 3 Topher is credited in the movie, but they dont say who he is... Thomas Haden Church (mechanic from wings) is going to be Sandman. also a fake trailer for the movie dunno why this was made.
