Any tips on getting the trunk to line up correctly?

One side is slightly higher than the other, and there is a significant gap between the inner and outer tail lights that needs to be fixed.

Those who have done the swap please chime in!

Same problem I had when I swapped trunks with a SVT. It has been like that since June, and I still can't get it right. Tom (wa2tuff) who I swapped with reccomended taking it to a body shop and having them do it.

Mine fits perfect. It's not hard to do. Put on the nuts but do not crank them down. Move the trunk where you want it and then crank down the nuts.

Yeah, I've tried that. It's just extremely hard to figure out where the trunk should be adjusted to while the nuts are loosened...

sometimes you need to use washers between the arms and the trunk lid itself to favor the tipping one way or another. as for side to side - split the difference and if the gap isn't too big you should be happy enough. i had to add two washers to the right side hinge....

So I'm assuming you use washers on the side that is tilted upwards?

Thanks, I'll have to try this when it gets slightly warmer....blah!

the only thing I noticed on mine is the corners the trunk that is closest to the rear window are raised a little higher that the rear side fenders instead of being even. When I push on it it levels out but pops back up when pressure is let off. Still have not had a chance to look into that one

the hood on my 96 bent when one of my really really fat friends sat on it, never was the same. but if you have a really really fat buddy of yours sit on the raised side that might work

ha ha - yes, but the gap is perfect and neither of the sides are too low or too high.
