I saw a black Pontiac Pursuit GT 2 Door Coupe at a local Crappy Tire and I must say it looked SWEEEET.. black on black, All disc brakes, sweet 17's .. georgous interior.. I was like wow! those will sell well in the States if they are ever released there.. a little too pricey here.. but nice car overall.. two thumbs up!

A friend of mine who works at the GM tech center told me about this, so I went and checked it out. It looks like all they did was add the dual nostrile nose and the tailights from the Cobalt sedan and BAM, you've got the Pursuit I think it looks pretty good, but then again, different is good. On a side note, my buddies wife has a Cobalt SS sedan, non S/C'd w/ 172 hp and it goes pretty well, not like the blown version, but good none the less. He has also told me that the blown SS's are dynoing in the area of 215 hp stock, hmm, rated at 205 and pulling higher, thats also a good thing. He went on to tell me that GM is offering 2 stages for the car as well, one is injectors and a reflash and the other adds a pulley to the mix, thus putting it in the area of 250 hp, but atleast you can order the car with an LSD, nice idea In closing I've been told that the next Cobalt is going to have a turbo and kicking out 260 hp, probably using the current Saab 9-5 motor. I'll say this about Chevrolet, they're trying, something Ford has yet to do with its current small cars, where are you guys
The catch about the Pursuit though, is that it is only sold in Canada. So you will never have to worry about seeing one. It is however, the sister car of the Cobalt and Ion.
BUT, I believe in 2008(?) Pontiac will also be joining the delta platform (rebadged Cobalt) while the Ion goes bye bye for the Saturn rebuild up.
Also, yes SS/SC's AND RL's both are underrated from the factory and actually dyno at the wheels what they are supposed to be putting out at the crank. Dynos have been seen anywhere from 190whp up to 220whp bone stock. The only bad thing about these cars are #1) traction issues and #2) ECU ninja flipouts...throwing CELS from intakes is not cool and GM is not helping by keeping their ECU locked tight. Of course to sell the stage kits, which have been rumored to come out for quite some time but I believe they are just barely being released now. The only bad thing is there is already a kit out that adds a smaller pulley & piggyback that dynos about 240whp. Good thing is that the redline is being raised since the car is still actually making power at redline. But yeah, nice car...nice sounding too. Just need more traction, less slipping clutch, and not such an anal ECU.
And last but not least, GM does have plans for a 2.0 Eco turbo'd but it will not be going in the Cobalt. It will be going in the Solstice.
Anyway, I'm rambling now...

Exactly, because I saw something that I probably wasn't supposed to and it had the 2008/09 Cobalt SS with upgraded internals and a turbo! No pics, but an "official looking sheet"

I am almost positive
If you are talking about the Turbo 2.0 Ecotec pushing 260HP it is going to be going into the Solstice.
Only time will tell but I seriously doubt you will see turbo anything in the Cobalt.
