Did you have the 3-bolt flex pipe in between them? IIRC you need that for correct fitment. That might be your missing 8 inches.

It kind of is, it allows the exhaust system to move a little bit. Without it, you may get some rattles or even crack one of the welds since it's so rigid.

How much is a flex pipe from Ford?
P/N?
SO for those of us with 2 bolt cats, we need....
Weapon R's
Flex Pipe (Ford or Aftermarket?)
Trubendz Test Pipe w/Cat (or just the flange)
EGR Mod (Any more info?)
Any gaskets?
And as I understand it, optional is...
Studs
Nuts
Manifold Gaskets
Close, or way off base?

have you seen how retarted heavy the stock manifolds are? and how less-strong the Weapon R/MSDS ones are?
you NEED a flex pipe to take stress off the headers.

80 bucks from bill jenkins, you'll need new gaskets as well, IMO it is VERY worth it to protect the 400 dollar headers you are buying.

Goonz you NEED a flex pipe. You didn't have one before cos your car had a 2-bolt donut flex-flange. Having a fully rigid exhaust system is asking for broken headers AND/OR the studs holding the headers in. Order a 3-bolt flex and have it put in and get the retards that modified you cat to switch it back to how it was. STAT!
Man that's what happens when clueles people work on cars - they jump to conclusions and screw sh!t up.
As for the header/stock y-pipe question. I may hav been mistaken before when I FIRST ever saw the Weapon R headers, BUT DON"T BE CONFUSED NOW - ALL HEADERS EITHER MSDS OR WEAPON R, AND STOCK Y-PIPES, BAT Y-PIES ETC, WR, MSDS, TRUEBENZ, ETC., ARE ALLLLLLLL INTERCHANGEABLE OK!?!?!
