That's great!!
I was looking into an 1989 and a 1993 SHO before the Lumina basically "fell into my lap".
SHO's are an absolute blast to drive, just don't try pushing too much in the corners....the only issues with 'em are the brakes and the exhaust (probs with the cats). Other than that, have fun!!! There's many of them for sale, just the 1996-1999's have cam failure issues. You find stuff like this:
SHO
On craiglist all the time
A1C Hodges, Christopher Active Duty USAF Sheppard AFB Texas;Westover ARB Chicopee, MA
NECEG "Troll"
formerly owned 2000 SVT Contour, with all kinds of goodies;)

I was thinking SHO afterward but didn't want to be wrong a third time, lol (plus a twelve-year-old high-output Ford didn't seem like a commuter car) . It looks beautiful though! Leather? Sunroof? More pics ..

heres the full info. 1995 SHO 3.0 MTX Leather/cloth inserts full power. seats even have power lumbar and side bolsters! automatic climate control
and of course it wouldnt be a project for me if stuff didnt go wrong. got the car up on jackstands to do the brakes. both front rotors had to be heated up to be taken off. one of the caliper mounting bolts had to be heated to come out. rear e-brake cables are kinda sticky. front pad were wrong ones! rear calipers need to be turned and pressed in and i dont have the tool and couldnt find it anywhere yesterday. blah.

My brother has had two SHO's both green MTX 93-95. 93 he totaled. If you want some free tan door panels I have the two fronts. We did the 96 brake upgrade and it made a big difference you may want to look into it before you put the little front rotors back on. I have turned the rear calipers with sliding pliers just have to be careful not to scratch it. I think we also had to replace both of the rear calipers because they were frozen. Good luck the engine will last forever but the rest of the car is a Taurus. And be careful with any exhaust mods they can become painful to your ears.

i thought about the 96 upgrade, but the extra $100 for brackets will be spent elswhere, like on the ebrake cables. blah. i usually dont have any problems puching in the pistons, btu these are beaing a bear. they turn fine, but they wont go in. i might have to bite the bullit and buy new calipers too. sucks.

thansk for the offer of the door panels but my interior is grey.
i wont be doing any crazy upgrades to this since it is only a driver. hell it might even get flames this spring just for the heck of it.
well, my cost for new rear calipers and e-brake cables is only $150, so i might as well just go new! haha
