I would discourage against 10W30 oil. Your leak is most likely coming from your oil pan gasket. It is about $35 dollars and will take you a few hours to replace with moderate skill. Search the forums for how to change oil pan gasket... or you can do what I did for awhile. That is park just over the end of the driveway so it leaks in the grass

Anything with a greater range should be fine. Mobil 1 0W-40 is the choice of some CEGers. In general, though, unless you have a special application, 5W-30 is what you want. I use 0W-40 for the winter, since it gets down to -25 sometimes. But, it's hard to find, so I often just stick with the 5W-30. The difference is pretty slim.

Not that slim. Mobil 1 5-30 is almost a 20 weight oil, whereas mobil 1 0-40 is really close to a thick 30 weight. Notice more importantly, how thin mobil 1 10-30 is!!

Like stated above. Look into fixing the leak. It will just be the better solution.

Use power steering fluid. It is clear so if it drips, you won't see it.

Last time I read the owners manual in my gloveback I thought it said 5-30 or 10-30.

Water is better... it evaporates and helps clean your parking spot while you're at it. Yup, win-win situation right there.
