Hi Guys, I took my car into the stealership to get a noisy wiper fixed and to try ONCE AGAIN to see if they would replace the fuel pump (chokes sometimes when tank is 1/4 full, possible clogged sock) and this is what they told me.
They will not fix the pump because they did not get any codes showing a failure there Ford will not credit them for that part. Basically I have to live with the problem because nothing is "broken".
The wiper transmission is the fault for the noise, not the motor and while the wiper motor is covered by warranty the transmission is not. Basically I would have to pay over $500 to get this fixed.
Are you %^&%@^$#&%#^@%#&% kidding me!!!! I paid $1700 for this extended warranty! On top of all this crap they are telling me that I will have to pay over $200 for the diagnostics since I declined to have my wiper fixed. Any help would be appreciated guys. Never again......I swear I will never buy a Ford again. As a matter of fact you may see my CSVT for sale on hear in the near future!

That's why some of us don't buy warranties and repair everything ourselves. They always find a way to get out of it. I have wiper parts on my parts car still. The FSVT fuel pump is $100. Read the FAQ and fix the pump yourself for free.

Now you tell me. I asked opinions on here before I bought the warranty and most people recommended that I get it if I was going to keep the car for any length of time. I love the car, minus the reliabliity issues, and so I got the warrnaty. BIG MISTAKE!

Your dealership is retarded. Take the car to them when you are under 1/4 tank and take a service writer with you to demonstrate the problem. I don't believe there is a code for "Your fuel pump is starting to go out."

I suggest this also. I had a similar issue when I was still in my factory 36k mile warranty, where I was having the rear squeek issue. Had my service writer come along with me around the parking lot, hit a few small bumps, and he could hear it too. If that doesn't work, you've got to b!tch until you get it done. My suggestion is telling the service writer that you aren't leaving until you talk to the service manager. They'll always tell you no at first. If you turn around and take that as a final answer, they win. Also, you might take a look at your warranty paperwork. See if it says anywhere, that there must be a check engine light, or a trouble code, in order for them to do the work.

The dealership I took the car to is not the one where I bought the warranty. Do you think that can make a difference in how they respond to you?

Is the fuel pump issue (clogged sock) documented somewhere by Ford? It would help if I had some data to support my claim. I am going to threaten to sue them if my car chokes out on the highway and cause me any problems! These guys are idiots. Don't they see that they are going to loose in the long run when people switch over to Honda, Nissan, Toyota, BMW.... They are helping their competition...and it's not like those guys need any help.

By the way the main reason I took the car in is because it would not start. Clicking sound when I try to start it. I push started and took it in. They are telling me that they charged the batter and it starts fine and nothing is wrong. If that is the case then why did it not start when I push started the first time and drove around for a while and turned the ignition off then tried to restart it? Too much problems with this car!

I suggest you read your warranty to see if the wiper transmission is covered. They will usually specify 'motor only', or indicate the 'motor assembly', which would include the transmission.
Friend of mine had a Thunderbird that developed a tranny problem that turned out to be a bad sensor. The dealer said sensors were not covered, just mechanicals, and billed him $1200. Warranty stated specifically 'hard parts, gears, housing, and sensors'. Dealer finally caved.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

How many miles are on the car? Honestly, quit blaming the car, and blame Ford service! It's a fuggin' car, and here's a reality check, THEY BREAK! Hondas, Toyotas, and even BMW's break! You've got a car that's 6 years old, so acting like it just rolled off the assembly line is your first mistake. If you've got a problem with the car, take it in and don't back down. Read your warranty and tell them that they have to fix your problem(as long as your warranty covers whatever is broken). Take some of your internet aggression, and apply it where it matters, at the dealership! As for your extended warranty being covered at different dealerships, I don't know. Again, read the warranty paperwork. Mark
