I read the article the whole time thinking "[censored] bastards, peices of [censored], get your god damn act together, what the [censored] is this, this is bull [censored]"..... i was infantry... but after reading and thinking for a few minutes i think this. Combat training needs to remain harsh as hell, kill you, fact is in a combat unit you have a much greater chance of dying then in a non combat unit.... My girlfriend just joined the army, she is a soldier now and im damn proud of her. when she goes to training this will be good for her, she is going to be in supply and they are going to take the time to teach her rather then belittling her then turning away if she breaks...

When her recruiter and I were speaking her recruiter said they got the ACU's now. i said "what about polishing the boots, thats a standard and they need to do that, it teaches diciplin" an officer was also involved in this conversation and said basicly
(short version) would you rather her have shiny boots and die or have dull boots, defuse the situation and live
