It didn't work for me back in '93 and todays youth are a bit more savvy than 13yrs ago.......

Maybe that's because the Army does it half-assed.

Sorry RT but my DI's did it right and I can almost gurantee my Basic & AIT was more difficult than yours in the Marines.

Why? All of my DI's were the exact same MOS as us, we did not leave our Basic building for AIT like most do, we stayed put had had the exact same DI's for AIT.

RT, the breaking down did not work for me, but I know it worked for my peers. Too bad my peers were as dumb as a box of rocks or they too would have figured out the game and just played along

You hit the nail on the head at the end of your statement. It is a game, and the mentality astute ones figure it out and how to play along. The dumber ones take it personally and don't know how to figure it out. Being softer on recruits is going to do nothing except give a weaker person in the end. You might get better results up front, but it does nothing for when the [censored] hits the fan. If they can't handle the stresses of boot camp, how can they be expected to handle the stresses of combat? I sure as hell wouldn't want them next to me in a fox hole.

As for you claim's of boot camp being harder...well, I highly doubt that. HOwever, being an Intel weenie, you might be right on your secondary being tougher.....ain't my fault I'm a smare one :-P
