Brain fart, I remembered that my Voc Auto instructor had a 98ish Villager and was always talking about how it had some crazy Japanese V6 in it... like it had coilless ignition, but still had a distributor that was just a hall effect switch. Figured maybe they put the Duratec in for 2000, but I was thinking of a totally different platform!
