Hi guys, i had a little problem with car today, here are the facts:

Today's temp was 90F and my car is a 00 mystique V6 ATX with 52k miles.

I was driving in D in a downhill(AC was on), switched to N and car started to accelerate itself till 2krpm and drop to 1krpm an so on, when car is stopped at red light in neutral revs stayed at 1krpm, in D stayed at 750rpm....if car is moving (5mph) in Neutral car accelerates itself and goes crazy. I didn't get any CEL or anything. If car is in D and suddenly i stop car looks to keep accelerated a while.

Anyone has any idea about this? sounds to you like an IAC problem? TSS? Throttle Hang?

I'll appreciate a lot any input

Thanks Tony, i'll do TH fix and clean IAC to see if it gets better, only doubt i have is which size of hole do i need to drill in the 1/2 inch copper pipe cap?

Start with the smallest hole suggested then enlarge it if needed since it's pretty hard to make it smaller if you get it too large.

I have a 2.5L non svt v6 and I drilled mine 15/64. It worked great. Buy a few 1/2 copper pipe caps, and try a few sizes. You decide which is best for your car! They're less than 25 cents a piece. Good luck!
