How exactly do you disconnect the IMRC cable - LIM linkage?

Mod-Deth, you have a PM. Still unclear about the directions.

Ok, I turned the LIM cam to get some slack. Now what the hell do I do?
Do I slide the cable out of the support bracket first or slide the black part (with the lead weight) off the LIM linkage? If im supposed to do the 2nd one first, how the [censored] does it slide out??

Some of us, me included, can't get the thing off without removing the throttle body. It doesn't take that much time to remove the throttle body anyway.

I can get a couple fingers on the black grommet (whatever its called) while the other hand turns the LIM cam thing to give the cable slack. But I don't know how the grommet disconnects from the LIM linkage. Does it just slide off in one direction or does it have to be rotated or something else?
I only had a narrow time frame to work on it today and rushed it since I wanted to get it done before a Thursday roadtrip (which wont happen now). But I'm pretty sure if I take my time when I try again during spring break and possibly remove more parts out of the way (i.e. throttle body), then I should be able to remove the bastid.
