In keeping with my reputation for stupid questions I have a winner. Focus coilovers on Mystique??? this is the only way other than buying and trying that I can answer this question. any help at all would be welcome. thanks

No, focus suspension parts are not a drop-in for the Contour. In the rear isn't not even remotely like our setup.

There are true coilover kits for the Focus, with threaded strut shafts. However, the GC+Koni kit is a very good combination, and priced reasonably too.

Correct. The rear is not a coil over strut.
