After removing my mudflaps last year I saw the car had formed a rust spot where one of the screw for the mudflaps was. As soon as weather permits I'm going to fix it.
No worries on yor situation, my doors have the same thing going on, just not nearly as bad as to have holes coming through.
The time has come where touch-ups are starting not to work
