I saw that when it aired on CBS the second time. They actually re-ran the story, which is quite unusual - almost unheard-of.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I have an autistic cousin who's constantly trying to normalize her life. After years of special ed classes she started taking regular classes at a Worcester public school and graduated (in the top 6% of her class no less). She's attending an area private college now as a business/accounting major and has a part-time job cashiering in a store near my apartment. She writes occasionally for autism-awareness newsletters to get people to understand.
That article was touching. It's always good to see people integrated positively into society rather than ostracized for something beyond their control.

My brother mark is autistic and that kid whips everyone's butt in any game of memory! I have yet to win.... His favorite one is Winnie The Pooh And Pals Memory.

Outstanding. I got tears watching that. I'm reminded a little of a kid in my class in high school who had pretty severe muscular dystrophy, wheelchair bound, very difficult to understand, but every so often, he would turn up pieces of writing that he'd done on a computer (this was late 1980s/early 90s when computers in school were a novelty), and you'd just be shocked at the quality of work his mind could generate.
