Big Jim:
Not sure if this is the correct protocol to bring my questions into this thread but I will anyway until some one tell me it is not appropriate.
About a week ago I had the check engine light come on my 98 SVT and today was my first chance to check it out. I used the Autotap 3.0 software with my laptop and found the code was P0420 and collected some data after the engine warmed up. Your post stated that if the voltage of the downstream O2 sendor were dampened that it was probably not a major problem and just drive it for a while. I am not sure I understand the term "dampened". Do you mean the voltage levels should oscillate at lower levels than the upstream sensor or the switching speed should be slower than the upstream sensor? Or something else.
