Many cars can be had for below invoice. Done in Florida all the time & dealers often advertise "$500 below invoice". The art of the deal don't ya know. Timing is important too. End of the month when quotas are met & salesmen are just padding their numbers, or those not meeting quota are hungry to get a deal on the books; end of model year leftovers; even the demos can be had for a deeply discounted price and have never been titled.

Been a while since I've purchased a car new, but one deal I made was for a very nice Mercury Tracer 5 door - a demo with 1190 miles on it. I got it for 20% below sticker, plus tax, ect. End of model year, there were only a few Tracers left at the dealer, other dealers were out of stock.

Sticker about $14,500
Sale price was $11,600 (roughly)
and I had a trade in (Grand Marquis with 188,000 miles) so my final out the door price was $9700 and change plus tax, etc. I was a happy guy, and the whole deal took less than an hour till I was drivin' my new car home.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
