The gas tank is under the rear seat not the spare wheel well! Just cut out the spare tire well and put a cell in the trunk. Just a mornings work.

That's the easy problem to solve

Just two smaller fuel cells with a crossover tube leaving a gap up the middle for the driveshaft. YOu'll loose a gallon or two of capacity, but that wouldn't be much.

Or get a custom fuel cell.

Custom fuel cells are very common in custom car building, this shouldn't be any different. Lots of options out there for a custom fuel plumbing and for a cell.

The front subframe would also need to be replaced or modified. There are mounting points on our trans for the transfercase, but not the hump in the subframe for the driveline to pass back to the rearend.

How different is the LS IRS rear suspension compared to the Mondeo? I noticed this on ebay.....

they measure 64.75" from hub to hub, Front mounting points are 36" from center to center, Rear mounting points are 35 1/2" from center to center, front mounting point to rear mounting point is 22 1/2". It is a 3.58 ratio 8.2" ring gear. These are set up for ABS and are complete from rotor to rotor (NO CALIPERS). I have both Lincoln and T-bird units to chose from, the Lincoln unit has a electric parking brake motor and the T-bird has a mechanical parking brake. They have 11 3/8" rotors and 5X108mm (4.25") wheel bolt pattern and use a strut style suspension (struts not incl

Gearing would have to be changed, but what about mounting points? I haven't dicked with the rear subframe yet, and my car isn't up on jack stands anymore to check.

Food for thought
