I have to chime in here! Turbo diesel power is the only way to go for trucks and SUV's. Tuning and small mods net huge numbers, and they also net a MPG bump in an already efficient setup like Thinmoto is pointing out.

Also, you can run biodiesel in them as-is, and look to our farmers to fuel them.

There is a point to where lifted trucks are simply grocery getter death traps (for other people, that is). But I do like a small to moderate lift on trucks/SUVs. But, only a lift that improves a vehicles abilities and not make them a top heavy and untrailworthy POS. There is such thing as too big.....

Personally, I would go about this big. This Excursion is a perfect example of what I would want to buy (minus the butt ugly grill guard!), if I weren't saving for a home. Turbodiesel for power and good MPG, small lift, nice wheels/tires.....
