Going down the highway with those big tires, and a lift, will greatly add to your size and weight, thus making aerodynamics about obsolete.

This is true, but getting back to stock performance hp-wise does not mean getting gas milage back to where it was. If it was possible to get 10+ MORE mpg by simply altering computer settings (assuming emissions requirements are still met) why would it not be done from the factory?




Stock cummins does alot better then 15mpg. I saw gains of around 3-4mpg with my duramax. That was running stage 3 edge juice with attitude. adds upto 125hp/325lb ft if i remember correctly to stock power numbers....so 400+hp/800+lb ft and around 20-21mpg for a dmax. Stock cummins with a 6speed will see 20-25mpg easily even 7.3L powerstroke fords can get theat with the 6 speed. Maybe with 44inch mudders it might not but it'll do alot better then you think.
