My 99 contour with 129 k, auto, ac and pretty much all oem has been starting to reveal a starting problem.
At times when I come to a hard stop(no brake lockup) it might want to stall with a rough and unstable idle and will catch itself and off I go.
On the other hand, the other day I got home from work (driving the turnpike) parked and ran in the house and when I returned to restart the car a few minutes later , all it did was crank and start with a few sputters and stalled.
I waited a few seconds and then all it did was crank, not wanting to start.
5 mins or so later i tried it again and then I heard the fuel pump make its prestart sound and it fired right up. Has been fine since.

If anyone can give me some help I would be very grateful

Sincerly
Hoping not to walk in PA
Thanks

There is a good chance that it is the fuel pump. But change the fuel filter first and see if it helps and put a bottle of gas stabilizer in the tank.
