Have a 1996 Contour 4 cylinder. There seems to be an exhaust leak way up toward the front. Looks like leak is just before the flex-pipe (I learned from searching first that that is what the woven metal pipe is called
).
It appears that whatever the pipe is that goes to the flex-pipe has corroded at that connection point and is leaking.
Is the fix to have that pipe (what is that called, please?) that goes to the flex pipe replaced? Anyone know what I should expect to pay for this repair at a muffler shop or wherever?
