Ok, my front wheel bearings are bad and need replaced. I would like to change the front hubs as well, i've researched and found front bearings and rear bearings but my real confusion is in the hub assembly. Why is it that I can only find REAR hub assembly's at parts stores and ebay and whatnot, but no FRONT hub assembly's. Are they the same? I feel they are not but cant find anywhere that sells them to show me differently. And I have no problem buying the hub and bearings and then having my friend press the bearings in at work then take the old ones off and put the new ones on, just dont have time for my car to be down for two days. Thanks for your help.

yeah i saw that diagram earlier today. so there is no front wheel hub assembly??? the bearings go in the knuckle??? if thats so, why does everyone refer to it as the hub and not the knuckle?

You can buy the Hub & bearing kit from Bill J.

Bearings you can buy anywhere and at any quality level. (beware the cheap sh~t!)

I've never seen hubs offered anywhere but the dealer/factory.
We have a press in hub and it does not need to be replaced unless it is cracked/broken.

When doing this job you NEED to get a new axle nut. The dealer sells the best ones. The axle nut puts a preload on the split sealed bearing. Not following the service manual instructions will lead to repetetive bearing failure. That is a well seen occurance because most people do not know what they are doing.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

The hub with the bearing is a sub-assemble of the knuckle. If you want to save time, it will cost you more money, but the knuckle is the way to go.

Considered the hub cause this is getting worse and figured since i have it off why not replace it, but its becoming a more difficult task that i thought. Eeps posted about Stazi having knuckles with bearings, Im just gonna buy those, and yes, I'm aware of the axle nut and the torque specs per Ray's post in the how-to section. Thanks for the imput.

Check out The red type under Stazi's name, he sells them cheap.

Eppals, thanks for the heads up on Stazi's offer, I've sent him a PM. Hopefully he has two of them. (might as well replace both, cause it never fails, replace one, the other fails) And actually, the knuckles with bearings he is offering is a less expensive route for me, again thanks for the heads up.
