You'd have to find the solenoid that prevents the lock cylinder from turning off, and hook it up to the neutral safety switch (the one that allows you to start the car in park and neutral).

Otherwise you can wire it to where you can remove the key while the car is in any gear.

My old 96's cylinder was worn out... I could pull the key out in any position (like I could take the keys out while it was still running).
