God, I just did that nightmare last month. What a clusterf***!.

Empty the fuel tank. I went through the access hole in the trunk, loosened the pump and set it aside enough to insert a hose, then siphoned the gas out into a fuel can.

Drop the exhaust by loosening all the rubber hangers up to the Y-pipe.

If you only need to drop it an inch, put a floor jack under it, loosen the straps, and then lower it a bit. The forward part will drop more than the rear.

If you need to drop it all the way good F'ng luck with that abortion of a filler tube and its retainer.... I'm still pi$$ed about that project..

BTW, why are you dropping the tank??
