When does the race track open back up for fun drags. Also, does anyone want to go when the track opens up and see what kind of times you can REALLY run in your modified or stock SVT's. I have a stock SVT I've gone once and ran a 15.75 and my friends have a GSR and a SI. GSR intake, exhaust, headers, skunk2 manifold at 15.02 SI intake, headers, VTEC controller at 15.30 I used to be able to beat them when our cars were stock but now they run all over me with their modified cars. They both think no modified SVT can beat them. I think they have been eating to much RICE. I know I cant beat them with my SVT but if their any modified SVT racers who wanna go to the track with us when it opens up it would be cool. Just to see if a modified SVT is good and fast as an GSR or SI. Also, see the SVT BURN SOME RICE.

Alright!
Hope we get a good turnout from Sacramento. I'll probably be bringing just the SHO unless I can find someone that wants to drive out with me. I'm really interested in seeing what everyone is running [should be more interesting than seeing 50 civics run back-to-back]. I'd like to run the Contour but I need [more badly] to check that the chip I've programmed for the SHO is running well.
I hope it's not too crowded -- it's the first week back...

February 14th. Wednesday Night Drags. If it's anything like Sears Point, then its 10to watch, 17 to race, and when you tech pick the category that all the imports are in. -Jason Holmes ------------------ '99 SVT Green/Tan Koni/H&R Combo - Bassani Catback - KKM Intake - ES MM Inserts Hoodliner Removed - '95 Sail Panels - KKM Pedals - Voodoo Shift Knob Engraved w/ SVT and Shift Pattern <| My G-Ride | | Gallery |>

Sac raceway is slightly cheaper than Sears Point. I believe it's $7 to get in and an extra $7 to race, although it's been almost two years for me so things could have changed...
Gates open on Wednesday [Feb 14] at 5 or so. That's what they say, though I think they may actually open a little sooner. The earlier the better, as you get more time trial runs in before the bracket racing starts. If you get there at 6 or 6:30 you will only get one time trial in.
Get in the import group if you want to race those guys. If you want to race [mostly] 12 & 13-sec Mustangs and Camaros then they'll put you in the appropriate lane ['Domestic' cars]. There are still plenty of slower cars there, but the imports are much better pickings [usually only 3 or 4 cars below 15.0 -- most are lots of show and no go, and the fastest cars invariably look the most stock].
If/when you get eliminated from bracket racing you can get into the first lane and they do 'fun runs', at least if time permits.
I'm not a big fan of drag racing [not nearly as fun as track racing] but it's definitely worth going once if you've never been, or if you want to see what the car will really do. Plus in this case we'll have a few members out there [I've never met a SHO or Contour SVT owner at the track, so this will be nice]. There are usually a few pretty cool cars like the street-tired, stock-looking, suprisingly-quiet mustang GT that was there last time, running a 12.2 @ 131mph -- *that* is a fast car.
If you don't know where the track is just hit their website [www.sacramentoraceway.com].
Hope to see a good chunk of the Sacramento Contour owners out there.
