First thing that needs to be straighted out is who sits on the UN Human Rights Commission. Half of the world's WORST offenders chair that commission, so just about anything they put forth is an unequivocal crock of steaming s**t.

Think back to early 2001 when they kicked the US off of the commission; that's right, the US was KICKED off by the likes of China, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Syria, Algeria, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Uganda, Togo, Vietnam, etc., etc.

Again, some of the most BLATANT and DISGUSTING human rights violators sit on that council, so any proclamation they put forth should be almost immediately dismissed out of hand...

I'm not saying that the US should further sit on their hands about the detainee question, but the UN and the current hypocritical monkies that populate the HR commission should have NO weight in any decision we make.

Now, to address the IAEA referral of Iran to the UN Security Council, of course Iran will try to make political hay out of this...

...but at last check, Cheney nor Bush have stated that they want to see Israel wiped off the map, that the Holocaust didn't exist, etc., etc. There is a MAJOR difference in terms of credibility between what the US chooses to ignore and what Iran chooses to ignore, especially with the topic of nuclear advances.

Finally, Iran even mentioning the topic of "human rights" in a political setting is damn-well near laughable, given their abysmal record...
