I love navigation systems.

Hmmm... does this mean they're electronically limiting the torque proportionally to how far the wheel is turned? I'm gonna have to be skeptical about that. I could see plenty of drawbacks to that.

It just means that the TCS system figures steering angle into its' activation programming. It works that way on any TCS system -- the greater the steering angle, the more chance than TCS will kick in. Accelerating out of a turn in 1st gear is impossible in my 6s -- TCS will engage every time. If you don't like it, you can just turn TCS off.

It sounds to me like they're talking about more than traction control. In your example, traction control is kicking in "passively" simply because it senses reduced grip. In the case of the 3, it sounds like the PCM is proactively limiting torque depending on steering wheel angle. It already limits torque in gears 1-4, so IMO it sounds like steering wheel angle is another parameter...

High-level Torque Management
A wide range of optimizations give this high-power, high-torque FWD vehicle greater ease of use with more comfortable driveability and handling. Intake volume and boost pressure control suppress sudden torque peaks, assuring smooth, linear torque delivery. Additionally, torque characteristics from first through fourth gears are optimized to deliver appropriate drive power from take off. Torque control is also linked to the steering angle, and the stiffness of the left and right drive shafts is balanced with the angles optimized to control torque steer.

I've been in the current mazda 3 and I kinda liked it. Small car and I'm 5'6". I really felt I could have used some more driver room. Oh and I hit my head on the way out (low slope door frame. I can't imagine anyone over 5'10 fitting into the car. Makes me laugh thinking about it though. Just a heads up (no pun ment) for some of you looking into this.

The 250 HP in a 6 speed stock its sweet.

Did anyone figure out what the POS button does?

Maybe the one I was in had the seat all the way up??? It was at an auto show and power seat won't move without a battery in the car.

Whatever the reason, I know my head was pretty close to the roof.
