Doesn't GM sell more cars than Ford?

I'm not 100% sure about that, but I don't think they do. I seem to remember reading something about GM always struggling to beat Ford's sales. Not that either is a poster-child for design, but regardless that new Impala shows little to no effort or creativity.

Did someone really say that a 500 is anything other than boring looking?

i had an Impala in Miami in December. aside from an absurdly squishy suspension, i thought the car was very solid.
if they stiffen it up and put in a manual trans or auto with paddle shift and they have the potential for a very nice sleeper with "big car" tuner potential.

The 500 isn't the greatest design ever, and I'm not trying to put it on a pedistal, but it's a classy-looking large midsize car. To me the Impala just looks very generic. And in a time when it's sink or swim for GM, this is the best they could do?
Edit: And just because GM has more total sales than Ford, doesn't justify ugly cars. GM is a much larger company than Ford, with a lot more brand names under it, so I guess I'm not surprised that they have more overall sales.

Interesting...
As much as I love the charger, the Impala SS has an almost identical 1/4 mile time. I'd call that a sleeper. To me, the new Impala is fairly good looking, albeit a bit plain. There's no reason GM can't build "just a normal car" is there? That's how the Japanese have done it until lately...

Uh that would be called a grand prix gtp
Ford has always beat GM in volume of cars sold. Though for 05 both are claiming leadership, the debate is out

Hmmm I could have swore Ford was behind CHEVROLET BY ITSELF back in '78. And in '83 Ford production numbers were lower than even Buicks. Is that a load of BS I smell?
