Resident SRT-4 Guy Response:

I didn't read all the posts, but I read most. I do have one specific reply:

If you spent as much on an SRT-4 as you would to buy/install a supercharger on the Mustang, the SRT-4 will still win. From a stop or a roll, it wouldn't matter (assuming the SRT-4 had slicks for the race from a stop).

The Caliber SRT-4 is supposedly going to be rated at 300hp, however, the SRT-4 in reality would have been rated just below that. The HP figures Dodge released on them are the numbers those cars make stock to the wheels (So 225hp give or take 5hp). For making it fast, Mopar Stage 3 will put you in the 12's with nothing else but tires to hook up with. Do the other basics as you would on any car, intake/exhaust, go a little further with things like water injection, aftermarket heads, etc. etc. a mid to high 11 is possible on S3. The price of S3 is a bit more than other alternaties, however you litterally just install it and go. There is absolutly no tuning required at all. If you go another route for a full aftermarket turbo system (AGP is the most popular company www.agpturbo.com ) and your power potential is limitless. Depending how much you want to spend, $1,200 for the base kit all the way up to however much money you feel like. As of right now, now SRT has ran a 10 (officially anyhow, as in verifiably with a time slip...although there are a few witnesses in Michigan who saw a guy do it in a car he sold the day before at Milan). If you want a little handeling the stock SRT-4 is a great handeling car. If you want more than that, get the SRT-4 with the ACR package. There are plenty of dealerships across the country who still have them on their lots and even if one of your local ones doesn't they would be able to get you one. You can get a new SRT-4 for $18,000. They need to sell them ASAP so they're offering crazy deals.

The Mustang GT isn't a bad car at all. I'm obviously biased, so take all this for what it's worth.

If you or anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to answer anything.
