well. today while i was driving back from school, i was listening to my music, and i realized that the woofer sometimes turns of for like 5 seconds, and then it turns again, its only the woofer because the music is still working, what would it be, i got a new deck for the car, and new wiring, good fuse everything, but today i realized that problem, i need help please, the ampli and woofer are brand new i got them past september. help please.

Make sure the ground wire is not loose. You may also want to check to make sure the amp is not going into "protect" mode. Does the woofer turn off at any specific time, or is it random? To me, it sound like a bad ground wire, or maybe the remote turn on wire, especially if you just put in a new deck.

well. its random, its just a matter of seconds and then it turns on again, if the ampli is getting in protection mode, what should i do, cause its scary i dont want my sound to blow up, thanks

Do you have a less than 4ohm sub?

A lot of amps are not stable below 4ohms, could be your problem...

...or it overheats. My MTX overheats sometimes, but it takes like 5 minutes for it to cool down and kick back on.

If the amp has a crossover, make sure it is set around 80-120Hz. DON'T turn the bass boost up too much, and make sure the loudness on the deck is not on.
When the woofer stops, is the amp power light still on, or does the whole amp turn off and then back on?

i meant the sub control in the deck, by the way its a sony xlpod cdx-m7810.

Almost positive that is it. Turn it down, and see if the problem goes away. BTW, what type of amp/woofer?

Check your wiring, I had a similar problem earlier this week. Also turn the bass down a bit, my friend fried his one day when he was showing off, it was funny but not good.

well, i turned down the bass a lil and it keeps doing that, the ampli is a mxa3002 MTX 300 rms, and the woofer is a mzs1204 MTX 300 rms, i dont know, i used to have an old sony xplod which didnt have a sub out, so i had to use the rear speakers out for the sub, and never had that kind of problem, its the first time, please help me.
