well whe u knwo that the motor is STOCK all looks then it is fun. when they look over at you and hear the v-6 reving up they don't knwo what is goin on or what you have under your hood.and alot of people here seem to think i drive a escort 4 door sincec the tour don't say n e thing on it at all other then the 24valve ho badge on the fender. no ford no contour nothing.if you would come to this crap town and see all the stupid hondas wit gay graphics and fat cans u would understand. i drive from slippeery rock to butler about 15 min drive i see at least 3 really gay honda's all body styles and years.

not to hijack the thread, but im having a new clutch installed soon, its just an OEM clutch. I figure break in is about 500 miles as well. Im having it done about an hour's drive away from my house (considerably cheaper), would it harm the new clutch to drive home constantly in 5th gear right after being installed?

i waz goin to have a oem put in but i found a spec 1 for 75$ cheaper then the oem one.

the cheapest I found a Spec 1 was $280 without shipping. My stuff shipped was like $250. I really didnt have any more then that to Spend. Plus spec is a little overkill for a Zetec anyways.

SPEC says to anticipate a 500-mile breakin (city driving). My Stage-1 engaged in a slightly 'choppy' fashion for the first 350 miles, then really started to smooth out.

I still took it relatively easy on the new clutch until about 750 miles. By then it was engaging very smoothly and many of those odd breakin noises had disappeared; however, I attribute some of those noises to the new Torsen.

The 'bite' between the worn-out stock clutch and the new Stage-1 is night-and-day. If I had to do the whole clutch replacement all over again, I'd probably use an OEM SVT clutch with my SVT flywheel, just to cut back on a little of the gear rollover noise.

I have had a problem with Rough or shakey take off's from first gear. I have been told by multiple people that has to do with the clutch. All of my motor and trannie mounts are in good shape.
