I will be competing in the USCSA National Snowboard Championship during this week. I am debating driving there in my 92 buick because my frequent flyer miles are not working out for me If anyone is here that skis or snowboards and is in the area...post away. Oh yeah...do you think my buick can make the 13 hour trip?!

sweet! i ski a little but nothing major. i am lucky if i get out once a year.
its not whether we think it could make the trip, but rather do you think it could make the trip.
hell my 69 caddy made the trip from Ohio to here..sure it puked the timing chain 2 weeks later, but it made it!

You could always have a mechanic give it a checkup and get his approval. I know nothing about your Buick, but if I was feeling uneasy about my car, I'd rent. Although, it's probably far cheaper to fly out here than to rent and drive. Plus, you'll probably want a lot of rest before competing, so driving 13 hours won't help that.
GOOD LUCK!

Yeah, the thing is...I cannot use my frequent flyer miles now because I'm blacked out... The car just needs new tires and she could make it! I have to go to this competition so I will get out there somehow...

I love skiing. I used to go quite often but have only gone 2-3 times the past few years. Good luck in the competition!

Same here. I used to go at least 4-5 times every year. But in the past 3 years, I haven't gone once. No time or money.
I hope to be back into it this coming winter. I miss it too much.

I went snowboarding...once. It was fun, but I got hurt A LOT, but I guess that's to be expected. One of the few cool things was gaining the respect of my uncle. "She just kept falling and getting up. Sometimes I'd pray that she'd just give up and stay down, but she didn't" I had the bindings set to a normal stance, but ended up favoring my other side occasionally - dopey? I decided I needed to be in better shape before ever tackling that again. lol considering the shape I'm in now compared to then, that'll likely never happen. If you drive, do you have a travel route planned out? Just curious which parts of NE you'll hit on your way in/out.

Not far from me, only about 3 hours. I've never been there, but I know people that have gone there (I ski too), and they liked it. Seems like it might be worth flying in, Burlington isn't far away.

NO DAMNIT! You pick that ish back up! I've seen bones break, I've dislocated my shoulder, I've landed ON my head in botced backflips(dont recommend)...I've come back stronger and harder. I am stronger and faster than I ever have been b4. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Bones heal, chicks dig scares, and glory lasts forever!
Just because you aren't the best doesn't mean you should stop...keep going, try harder no matter what.
As for the drive...I am going to go thru canada if I drive. There is a chance VISA won't lock me out on my frequent flyer miles
