Couldn't agree with you more. When I turned 16 I had to learn to drive my dad's 4-speed '84 240DL Volvo wagon before he even let me touch my mom's new 95 LX Dutec ATX. It was worth it. I learned how to concentrate on my driving before I could have fun with it.

Needless to say, the first weekend my parents were out of town, I rear ended a guy while going 5mph messing with the damn radio. That messed up the hood, and it flew open on me later that weekend when both my dad and I forgot to latch down the hood. That was a pretty freaky experience going 55mph down a two lane highway. eek
