Lately Ive become very interested in going to an Svtoa On track event this summer, and i was wondering if anyone in this region has been to any? They havent released any 2006 events yet, but does anyone know the closest tracks they do these at? Is anyone else an Svtoa member that would be interested in going to one of these this year?

Probably the closest they will get to us is Autobahn outside of Chicago or in Heartland Park in Topeka.

My personal favorite for an Iowa event is with www.mustangclubofcentraliowa.org and is held in Mid-July at Mid American Motorplex by Omaha. Great event and low cost. I've been to the last 3 events and am a member of the club.

I was at the Autobahn last year and will be again this year. I recommend go anywhere you can. It is so much fun you'll be hooked in less than half a lap!

The SVTOA events are very good - excellent instructors, reasonable track time. I'm thinking hard about that Omaha event - may have to sign up for that one.

FYI, Jeff Lacina (SVTOA's head instructor) is a member of our club and usually comes to the event. I rode with him in a V6 rental mustang last year and he was ebarking around corners just to have fun with some of the other guys that he knew well.

I'm definately going to look into the mustang club event. My dad said he used to know Jeff Lacina, from when he used to live in Cedar Rapids.
