okay. a few months back, i got EGR codes and 02 sensor codes. I solved the EGR code by cleaning the EGR passageways. The 02 sensor code was nothing to worry about, just slow response on bank 1, sensor one. well, the EGR code is back, along with the 02 sensor code.
P0133 02sensor slow reponse (Bnk 1 Sns1) P0401 Insufficient EGR flow detected
will i need to clean out the passages again? im gonna check it out tonight hopefully, but probly wont be able to for awhile. My shop teacher said it might be the PCV valve, meanings how last time i cleaned it, the stuff clogging it up was gunky, almost as if it had oil in it. whats your thought on this.
and is the 02 sensor code due to clogged pre-cats? or is that something else.
thanks in advance

From TSB, P0133 - HO2S Sensor Circuit Slow Response (HO2S-11) The HO2S monitor checks the HO2S sensor frequency and amplitude. If during testing, the frequency and amplitude were to fall below a calibrated limit, the code will set.
Electrical: · Shorted/open wiring · PCM
Induction System: · MAF sensor (On 4-cylinder engines, if P0133 is present, this could be caused by a MAF issue - on 6- and 8-cylinder engines, this could only be a MAF issue if P0133 and P0153 are both present) · Inlet air leaks (unmetered air)
Fuel Concerns: · Poor fuel quality
Base Engine: · Exhaust leaks (upstream or near HO2S)
HO2S Concerns: · Contaminated HO2S sensor (contamination from the use of silicone-based cleaners and sealants, leaded fuel, excessive oil consumption, etc.) · Deteriorating HO2S sensor

sounds like alot of problems could be present. But i think its only the 02 sensor aftert i would replace that, what other things should i check and how should i check them? I wasn't able to check the EGR out, so that might have to wait a couple days.

Cheap and easy ones.
Electrical: · Shorted/open wiring · PCM Check for loose or chafed wiring.
Induction System: · Inlet air leaks (unmetered air) Check for hissing or ticking sound.
Fuel Concerns: · Poor fuel quality Pour a bottle of HEET or gas stabilizer.
Base Engine: · Exhaust leaks (upstream or near HO2S) Check for hissing or ticking sound.

well i do have a ticking noise, but i was told that that is my injectors.
and a couple tanks ago i put in some gunk fuel injector cleaner. does this have anything to do with it?
i will need to check the wiring though. maybe thursday night, i work tonight.

yeah, alright. So i get under the hood last night to check out my code problems, and i see the green vacum line running to the EGR valve is off. that would explain one code, so i hook it back up. But i was under the hood and in the mood, so i took off the bellows and intake. Everything is shiny and clean. That is until i open up the throttle body. On the other side of the plate, its all wet and slimy. It looks like water. My engine was cold, so it was icy too. It was kinda brownish looking, but didn't smell of anything much. So i'm wondering, why is there water in my Intake? Condensation? It would seem to me that this is not a good thing. I was thinking about it this morning, and would it be possible the clogged pre-cats are causing these problems?

Could be anywhere. Only way to really find the leak is by spraying carb cleaner or propane gas at different places and see if the idle changes "significantly".
