just wanted to know if any of u have gone to the sac. raceway and if so can u post ur times. when i ran my car i ran a 15.73@89 stock thats my best.
do any of u get together anywhere and compare what performance mods u have done to ur cars. what performance parts to do and not to.
last i was thinking of getting the kkm,75maf, and the staright intake pipe all from sp motorsports. r these parts worth the money and what kind of performance do u really get from these parts.

thanks

I've wanted to go, just haven't found the time (or thought of a good enough excuse to tell the wife if something breaks)....

my SVT is my daily driver, and I'd hate to miss my daily dose of "enthusiasm"

maybe we should get a group together to run down, would be good to get some "veterans" with us newbies...

I called the raceway and it appears that the next 'fun drags' is not until the second Wed of February. The only runs they're doing between now and then that are open to the public are test & tune, which is usually populated by guys with real drag cars [you know, the 7-8 second ones]. It's a lot more expensive [$37 vs. $14] and is on Saturdays from 10-3:30.

We should set something up for February. I'd be happy to go along [I suppose 50 passes qualifies as a 'veteran'].

There's a lot of variety at the street drags. Everything from 12-second 130mph no-traction [street tires] Mustangs to 18-sec stock [well, except for a 3" exhaust tip] cavaliers. There's usually some pretty quick hardward out there.

They organize people into lanes, ie. lanes 2-3 will be 'domestic', 4-6 for 'imports', and 7 for their weekly special [Chevies, Mustangs, Civics, high-school, whatever]. Unfortunately that means we'll be in with the domestic category which doesn't generally get frequented by too many slow cars [> 15 sec]. It's fun to get matched up with someone with a ~equal car [I got beat by 0.004 by a Firebird when I lived in Idaho -- now that was a race].
Maybe I can get my boss to bring out his Boxster and you guys can beat up on it. I've raced him in the SVT [on the street] and it will keep up on a roll but loses on the launch. The SHO pretty much kills him by about 3-4 car lengts at the finish in the 1/4 [which made it fun the last time we went out to the drags].

Anyhow, it's usually a good time. Only problem is that some nights there are *so* many 16-sec civics and accords and so it can get slow. [the import lanes back up into the main traffic lanes... just too many people].

It should have decent maps. It's pretty easy to find.

If you haven't ever seen jet cars or nitrometh cars then you should go on one of their big nights when they'll have those cars running... Pretty incredible.
