Then you've got issues. I swear I've seen you post about horrible gas mileage before. Looks like it's time for a tuneup, and a thorough intake manifold cleaning.

Mark

yeah,a tuneup's a great idea,with the svt engine,headers,chip..etc i get 30-31 on the highway,about 28 mixed driving.,

this isnt really the place to discuss this, but you're right, i have posted about this before. I have done the chemical intake cleaning. What is involved in a tuneup?

I hardly can see how my engine would need a thourough cleaning considering it only has 36k miles...

you could answer these here or PM me... or maybe i'll find my original thread on it and ask more questions there.

Thanks

EDIT: go here to continue this discussion. I brought back the old thread.

I would go with with a SVT, before I got my SVT I test drove a few, SE V6 auto full load (I like), a GL V6 5 speed full load (did not like, some thing wrong with it, it was slow), then I drove a SVT and fell in LOVE, for the winter I got a Contour 4 banger auto (I do not like at all).

I've never heard of break issues? Not sure where these rumored problems get started? If you are close enough i'll let you give my car a look over to see if its what you want.

Yup, I'm from State College, too. I'd just heard of the problems, mainly from a complaint site. I figured I could come around to a Contour forum to get the full scoop.

Thanks for all of the replies, everyone!

I recently went from a 2000 Zetec ATX to a 2000 SVT. No contest. Get the SVT!

You can. Everyone can do it (well, atleast to a svt, maybe not a 2000). I promise.

A Zetec with a manual would be fun but with an ATX it's just an under powered rental car.
