by the way it burns hot. so put in some colder plugs and you can run it all day long, that is unless you have an older car
there ya go he's got the right idea, its plentiful, it's powerful, and it's clean, really clean, in fact the only biproduct is water and co2, thats it, unlike gas which is uber dirty.

fermentation is used for one type ALC the only kind i know of that is drinkable is Ever Clear. when the fermented [censored] is distilled the first 20 mls are thrown away and the rest is distill over and over again to make to smoother. how ever thats the only kind i know about. and even then i would not drink that stirhgt.
thats really sweet about refinin it. i have never herd of that. thats pretty cool

Are you sure it is sold all over Northern MN? I have yet to see one where I am, and the closest one that I can think of is in Duluth...and there isn't that many of them there as well. It is in southern Mn where they all are....where they grow the corn.

Now i don't know much about running ethanol or how it works, but how different is what you guys are talking about to like what a drag car runs?
A person that i work with has a drag car that runs in the low 9's and it runs on ethanol. She told me that it is haft the cost of race fuel but you use twice as much, so in that regard its a wash. Performance they got .2 seconds when they switched over, and thats a lot when you are in the 9's. Down side, you get a lot of water in the oil, even with a oil/water separator they have to change the oil every day after being at the track. It also runs really cold, so cold that when driving in the pits and durring the pre-staging they run it on race gas because other wise it would not get up to temp for the run. Durring the run they turn the water pump off and at the end the water temp is only about 180 to 190 in the engine.
Now like i said, i don't know how different this type of setup is to what you are talking about.

Well I worked in southern MN for a while and I only saw 2 stations that had it. So they are not as plentiful as you may think.
I know of a few in the Metro that sell it, but its only like 30 cents cheaper then regular unleaded.

ya they may not be very common right now but they are springing up pretty quickly. I guess it entirely depends where you live how prevelent they are. I have a station about a 100 feet from my house and I live in a metro area.
So I guess its availibility is comprable to race fuel, its either in your area, or its not.
yes... I am a cougar owner trolling on your board.

Ummm...no. E85 is cleaner but does not convert to CO2 and water. Hydrogen does that.
Plus E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, so you still get some of the normal pollutants.

Uh you're wrong Kyle - Hydrogen powered vehicles only produce water (neglecting trace C from burned oil). Alcohol WILL produce H20 and CO2 byproducts. Time to go back to Chem 101.

How do you recon that one out? Alcohol nas no where near the amount of energy as gasoline. A good friend of mine ran an alcohol 358 in IMCA for a few years but stopped because they burned twice as much fuel. That and alcohol will carry a lot more watter and corrode your engine from the inside out.
Yeah fuels like E85 are cheaper. Big deal. FFVs do NOT make as good of fuel economy as regular gas vehicles. Take that from someone that works for Ford...

Ummm, no - not in a spark ignited (Otto cycle) engine, friend. What you are speaking of is running alcohol in a diesel cycle.
