Ya, I was going to recommend 2000 at the most, but I'm sure he has some good reasons for wanting XP on it...
Those same reasons could be applied to Server 2003... it's basically super stripped XP Pro (meaning all the warm fuzzies are gone here). Drawback is that you can't install some programs on it since it's a "real" server OS... (i.e. it will run on a 133MHz/128MB P1!)
Well as real as the registry saying "server" instead of "workstation" or something. TweakNT takes care of that real quick... but then you've got a stripped XP Pro. Even changes the 2003 boot screens to XP Pro's after the change (means you can make your XP Pro into Server 2003)... No wonder why Microsoft says TweakNT is illegal!
